Curated by Colette- Mother's Day
Being a mother to 3 beautiful daughters- Chloe, Tash and Bianca my world has become a brighter place. The sun did not stop shining there. I have also been blessed with 5 gorgeous grandchildren and have been able to watch my daughters turn into loving, gentle, inspiring role models to their children. My love for them goes beyond words. Mother’s Day is so special as it embraces strong, selfless and empowered woman.

1. We all have a funny and embarrassing story to tell about motherhood. What would yours be?Dukey is a very social baby, he wants everyone to smile at him - it’s particularly embarrassing at restaurants because he just stares at the people at the table next to us until they give him attention, it’s cute for 10 minutes but not a full night haha
2. We cherish moments with our children. What would be your favourite moment as a mother? There are a few random things that make Duke laugh, I love it!
I’m sure every mum says this but he has the cutest laugh I’ve ever heard! I cherish the moments he is happy.
3. Three words that describe the joys of being a mother?Tiring, exciting, rewarding .. but not in that order!
4. What would your ideal breakfast in bed be?
I like boiled eggs with dark rye soldiers! And maybe some strawberries and cream for a little breakfast dessert!
5. How has your mum inspired you?Growing up my family has always been an affectionate one. My mum in particular is very loving towards her children and grandchildren- even now will randomly give me a massive hug and a kiss just because!
That’s something I really want to teach my kids too, to show love and let your family know that you care about them.
6. Your must-have accessory? Why?A light weight cross body handbag is always a must as a Mum- when you have a baby bag full of the essentials it’s easy to get your own things lost in there.

3. If you could take the family anywhere where would it be?
I want to spend a Christmas in Fiji; no cooking or cleaning. Relaxing, and enjoying the laid back atmosphere. Sun rises and sun sets, laughter, cuddles, swimming and sleeping
4. What would your ideal breakfast in bed be?
A strong cup of Yorkshire tea, freshly toasted sourdough with avocado, lemon & chilli salt – yum!
5. If you could give mum’s to be one piece of advice what would it be?
Don’t over pack your Colette baby bag for the hospital, less is more.
Don’t compare your baby to other babies; they will develop at their own pace, in their own time.
6. What is your favourite thing to do with your son?
Every evening we sit on the balcony and watch the cars, birds, trees….I sing nursery rhymes (for some strange reason O loves me singing?) his belly laughs melt my heart. I never get bored of doing this.

5. We all have a funny and embarrassing story to tell about motherhood. What would yours be?
I would have to say putting too many shopping bags on the back of the pram and almost tipping her backwards when I let go! I remember getting some disapproving looks from the onlooking ladies in the department store! Luckily, she was strapped in!
6. What would your ideal breakfast in bed be?
Being able to sleep in with no interruptions would be my ideal Mother’s Day, followed by a strong almond flat white!
