MTV VMA'S 2016

The 2016 MTV VMA’s kicked off with a bang! What lacked in shocking moments was made up with phenomenal performances and of course, some serious style. Here at Colette HQ, we pick our favorite moments.

1. Beyonce and Blue Ivy’s Entrance

Queen B is called exactly that for a reason! Everyone had their eyes on Beyonce as she made a grand entrance with daughter Blue Ivy, sporting a sequin gown with feathered wings by under-the-radar designer Francesco Scognamiglio. Blue Ivy herself rocked her own Giuseppe Zanotti dress with some super cute trainers.

2. Kanye West’s Rant

What would an MTV award show be without a Kanye West rant? Before premiering his new music video for “Famous”, he reminded everyone of his T-Swift saga and shouted out to Anna Wintour, his ex Amber Rose and of course, his wife Kim Kardashian West.

3. Britney Spear’s Triumphant Return

What a comeback indeed! Britney Spears returns to the MTV VMA stage for the first time in a decade to perform her new single “Make Me”, joined by rapper G-Eazy, and absolutely killed it.

4. Rihanna’s Award Acceptance

The star of this year’s MTV VMA show goes to Rihanna who won the prestigious MTV Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. She kicked off the show with an insane medley and closed the show with two more performances. It was the end that got everybody talking though, as Drake presented her award and took it upon himself to praise her and give her a sneaky kiss!
